Abstract
Purpose
This paper reviews existing research on Web3.0 published between 2003 and 2022, identifying key themes and future directions from an ecosystem perspective.
Methodology
Using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling, we analyzed 73 studies to uncover seven core research themes and their interconnections.
Findings
The study highlights:
- Decentralization as the foundational principle of Web3.0.
- Blockchain, smart contracts, and DAOs as critical infrastructural components.
- Emerging use cases like the metaverse, NFTs, and DeFi.
